The Honorable V.M. Patel
Founder (1939 - 2016)
VM Patel was the founder of Universal Mortgage and has been an expert in the Finance sector for over 40 years. Born in Gujurat India, VM initially established himself in London, England. Prior to launching Universal, VM was an owner and developer of hotels & senior living communities in the UK, which provided him keen insight into the hospitality industry. VM had formed relationships that span the US, UK and India and propelled Universal Mortgage to become a household name in finance, helping clients find the right solution to achieve success. He mentored the Universal team well and his legacy will live on through his hard work and dedication.
Niraj V. Patel
President
Niraj VM Patel, brought up in Florida and born in London encompasses over 20 years of experience in commercial finance and real estate transactions. Niraj specializes in structuring various types of financing and negotiations for commercial Real Estate assets including acquisitions and mergers. His knowledge and experience in underwriting complex scenarios enables him to structure loans for successful closings. Niraj is responsible for funding over $750 million in commercial real estate transactions, acquisitions, and debt refinancing. He believes only through relationships can you make the impossible possible.
Sonny Sharma
Vice President | Licensed Florida Real Estate Broker
Sonny Sharma has been in the financial services and real estate industry since 2002. His experience of owning his own mortgage brokerage firm and managing a title insurance company in Central Florida, has gained him keen insight in the real estate and finance market. Sonny is also a licensed Real Estate Broker in the state of Florida and has joined Universal to expand the company into other verticals. Recently, Sonny Sharma and Jay Patel launched a Millennium Title Group and became an agent for one of the largest national title insurance companies. Finance, Real Estate and Title are now under one umbrella.
Jay Patel
VP of Marketing & Sales
Jay Patel has been a pioneer in establishing Universal Mortgage with Niraj and his father. Jay has over 30 years of experience in finance, management and real estate. Jay is the backbone of the company since its inception. After successfully launching several businesses, including gas stations, hotels, resorts and other entrepreneurial ventures before joining the family business once again to take it to the next level. Recently, Jay and Sonny launched Millennium Title Group together establishing an agency with a top tier nationwide title insurance company.
